Warren (left) Lewis' brother, was always a friend and confidant. From 1930 until C.S. Lewis' death in 1963, the two shared a house in Oxford. Albert (center) Lewis' father. Although grateful for providing him with the means through which to educate himself, Lewis recalls that his father was often times incapable of understanding him. As a result of the death of his mother in 1908, Lewis felt the lack of love and so consequently turned inward to his imagination for comfort at an early age.
